Executive Women of New Jersey (“EWNJ”) honored June M. Inderwies, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Gibbons P.C. in Newark, at its Salute to the Policy Makers 2010 Awards Dinner. Gibbons was also named to the EWNJ Honor Roll, which recognizes companies for their efforts to represent women at the highest levels of the organization and for implementing policies to help employees balance work and family.

Currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, EWNJ holds the biennial fund-raising event to recognize women of professional distinction in New Jersey. Proceeds from the event fund EWNJ’s scholarship program, which since 1986 has provided over $1 million in scholarships to more than 300 New Jersey women enrolled in advanced degree programs at New Jersey institutions, as well as other programs that advance women.

“As part of its commitment to promoting women at the most senior levels of corporate America, non-profits, and public service in New Jersey, EWNJ paid tribute to 37 accomplished and admirable women for their professional achievements and contributions to their organizations. Since 1980, the Salute to the Policy Makers has become a prestigious list of the Garden State’s most accomplished women,” notes EWNJ President-Elect and 2010 Salute Dinner Chair Donna M. Meade, executive director of the JFK Medical Center Foundation. New Jersey Resources (NJR) Chairman of the Board and CEO Laurence M. Downes served as the event’s honorary dinner chair. Elaine Chao, former United States Secretary of Labor, was guest speaker.

By the time she was named Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer in 2007, soon after spearheading the firm’s move to new headquarters in Newark, June Inderwies had worked for Gibbons for more than 20 years, beginning as a paralegal and rising steadily to Facilities Manager, Director of Facilities, Chief Operating Officer, and now Executive Director. She has guided Gibbons through two decades of tremendous growth—from a 90-attorney practice in Newark to a regional powerhouse with 230 attorneys in five offices throughout the mid-Atlantic.
