Eduardo Amorim Joins the Gibbons White Collar & Investigations Group

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to welcome Eduardo Amorim to the firm as a Director in the White Collar & Investigations Group, resident in the New York office. Eduardo brings extensive experience in white collar defense, internal and government investigations, international arbitration, and complex litigation, as well as sports law and privacy & data security. At Gibbons, he will support the White Collar & Investigations Group expansion plans nationally and internationally, with a focus in the Latin America market.
Eduardo joins Gibbons from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York City, where he was an associate and focused his practice on white collar defense and investigations and regulatory enforcement. His background also includes representing a wide range of clients, often in class actions, securities and M&A litigation, and before the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and state regulators.
Eduardo previously practiced law in his native Brazil. There, for over 10 years, he counseled state and municipal governments, corporations, individuals, and sports entities in connection with dispute resolution, regulatory enforcement, and litigation matters.
He earned his Bachelor of Laws (J.D. equivalent) at Faculdade de Direito Milton Campos in Brazil. He also holds an MBA from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil and an LL.M. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Eduardo is admitted to practice in the state of New York, as well as by the Brazilian Bar Association – Minas Gerais Chapter. Additionally, he is a member of the Sport Resolutions International Panel of Arbitrators and the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal, in which he hears sports-related disputes.
