Gibbons Earns Recognition in 2021 Benchmark Litigation

October 21, 2020

Gibbons P.C. is one of only seven law firms ranked in New Jersey in the 2021 edition of Benchmark Litigation to earn a “Highly Recommended” designation, the publication’s top honor. The newest edition of Benchmark Litigation also highlights eight Gibbons attorneys as New Jersey litigation stars and one attorney as a future star.

Benchmark Litigation is the only publication on the market to focus exclusively on litigation in the United States. Firms included in the guide are chosen after a six-month research process that consists of a comprehensive nomination process and extensive interviews with clients and peers in attorneys’ respective marketplaces. Attorneys must be consistently recommended by those clients and peers as reputable and effective litigators in order to earn rankings.

The eight Gibbons attorneys named among the state litigation stars, along with their areas of practice, include:

Christine A. Amalfe
Employment & Labor Law

Thomas J. Cafferty
Commercial & Criminal Litigation

Kim M. Catullo
Products Liability

Patrick C. Dunican Jr.
Commercial & Criminal Litigation

Michael R. Griffinger
Commercial & Criminal Litigation

Lawrence S. Lustberg
Commercial & Criminal Litigation

Brian J. McMahon
Commercial & Criminal Litigation

Peter J. Torcicollo
Commercial & Criminal Litigation

Ms. Catullo, Chair of the Products Liability Department, was also ranked among the nation’s “Top 250 Women in Litigation” for 2020. In addition, Robert C. Brady, a Director in the Commercial & Criminal Litigation Department, was highlighted in the Future Stars category, for attorneys who are consistently referenced by peers and clients as litigators likely to become “local litigation stars” in future Benchmark guides.

Benchmark Litigation published an additional practice-specific guide for Labor & Employment. Gibbons was one of only two firms selected as a “Highly Recommended” firm in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the third year in a row, and eight Department Directors were selected as “Labor & Employment Stars – Northeast.” They are: Christine A. Amalfe, Kelly Ann Bird, Elizabeth Cowit, James J. La Rocca, Susan L. Nardone, John C. Romeo, Kristin D. Sostowski, and Richard S. Zackin.

Gibbons Commercial & Criminal Litigation Department Directors Joshua R. Elias, Samuel I. Portnoy, and Kevin W. Weber were selected to the Benchmark “Under 40 Hotlist” for 2020. These attorneys have been deemed the most promising emerging talent in their respective litigation communities by peers and clients.
