Mr. Asfendis is a litigation director in the firm’s New York office. He concentrates his practice on defending products liability claims and also represents a broad base of product manufacturers, product distributors, and other companies large and small, in business litigation and contractual disputes. A member of the state and federal bars of New York and New Jersey, he litigates throughout the United States.
Mr. Asfendis also has extensive experience handling a wide variety of non-product litigation matters, including complex contractual and other commercial disputes, New York Labor Law claims, automobile and general negligence claims, insurance coverage, and subrogation. He has served as both lead and second chair trial counsel in multiple matters and also has considerable appellate experience, which includes successfully arguing appeals before New York’s appellate courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Areas of Focus
Mr. Asfendis has defended product manufacturers and distributors in products liability matters throughout the United States, including matters involving medical devices and instruments, emergency medical services equipment, chemical products, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and power tools, to name a few. He concentrates his practice on medical device litigation and has litigated both in the individual lawsuit and mass tort contexts.
