Gibbons Congratulates 2022 Class of Directors

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that three attorneys from the firm’s Commercial & Criminal Litigation Group have been named Directors, effective January 1, 2022. All are resident in the firm’s Newark office.

The attorneys promoted to Director are:

Anne M. Collart
Ms. Collart is an experienced and trusted counselor who has represented individual and corporate clients in a variety of criminal and civil matters. Her white collar criminal defense practice includes trial and appellate matters, and she has argued cases in both federal and state appellate courts. Outside the courtroom, she has conducted multiple internal investigations throughout the United States and in Germany into violations of company policies, including those that implicate criminal wrongdoing. She also represents clients in government investigations. Ms. Collart’s civil work includes defending qui tam actions under the New Jersey and federal False Claims Acts and litigating complex issues under the federal Alien Tort Statute. She has also defended clients in sensitive and high-stakes cases alleging sexual misconduct and related negligent hiring and supervision. Ms. Collart is listed in Thomson Reuters New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars for Criminal Defense and Woodward/White Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” for Commercial Litigation.

Charlotte Howells
Ms. Howells focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance, construction, real estate, and financial industries. She also has experience in the area of media law and has handled litigation involving a variety of First Amendment issues, including defamation, privacy, and intermediary liability, as well as access issues involving state sunshine laws and FOIA. She has dealt with multiple aspects of state and federal practice, including drafting of discovery requests and responses, pleadings, dispositive and non-dispositive motion practice, and appeals. She also has extensive experience counseling clients regarding e-discovery issues. Ms. Howells is involved in all phases of litigation and dispute resolution, ranging from pre-litigation counseling to settlement negotiation, mediation, pre-trial preparation, and arbitration. She also assists clients with internal investigations and compliance issues. Ms. Howells is listed in Thomson Reuters New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars for Civil Litigation: Defense.

Joshua S. Levy
Mr. Levy has a wide array of experience in commercial litigation, particularly in high-stakes construction matters and consumer class action defense. On the construction side, Mr. Levy has represented owners, general contractors, and subcontractors on defect and delay claims in a variety of contexts, including chemical synthesis and manufacturing plants, urban hospitality and high-rise residential, and various energy and other infrastructure projects. In consumer class action matters, Mr. Levy has litigated federal and state class actions grounded in claims of consumer fraud, false advertising, and violations of various federal and state statutory regimes (including telemarketing, environmental, and price-setting). Given the breadth of his experience, Mr. Levy is adept at tackling complex challenges throughout the lifecycle of a case: pre-suit litigation avoidance, cost-effective electronic discovery management, strategic deposition practice and expert retention, and trial and post-trial advocacy.
