Two Gibbons P.C. attorneys, Alyce C. Halchak and Lawrence S. Lustberg, have been highlighted in the 2012 edition of United States Lawyer Rankings, which ranks only the top 10 attorneys nationwide in each of twelve practice areas, as rated by the senior management of large corporate and institutional companies and by members of the bar and judiciary, who together comprise the evaluation consortium.
Ms. Halchak, a Director in the firm’s Corporate Department, was ranked as one of the top 10 tax attorneys in the country. She concentrates her practice in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged leasing, securities and corporate, and compensation counseling. She also has significant experience counseling boards of directors of public and private companies on a variety of governance and legal matters, leading internal investigations and providing advice to boards and special committees regarding corporate governance matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley implementation, compliance, and enforcement. She is listed in the 2012 editions of New Jersey Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America, and was named one of the “10 To Watch” in The Star-Ledger’s article on “The Most Powerful Women in New Jersey Business,” as well as one of the “Top 50 Women in Business” by NJBIZ magazine. She was the only NJ-based attorney named to the 2008 class of the Direct Women Board Institute, among only 20 overall from more than 200 nominations nationwide.
Mr. Lustberg, Chair of the firm’s Criminal Defense Department and Director of the Gibbons Fellowship in Public Interest and Constitutional Law, was ranked as one of nation’s the top 10 criminal defense attorneys. Throughout his career, Mr. Lustberg has argued groundbreaking cases before federal and state courts up to the United States Supreme Court, and he is well known and highly regarded for his extensive criminal defense, public interest, and pro bono legal work. He has received numerous honors and awards in recognition of his achievements.
