Gibbons P.C. and Patrick C. Dunican Jr., the firm’s Chairman and Managing Director, were honored by the Women’s Association of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) with the 2013 Vagelos Award for Corporate Commitment to the Arts at the 18th Annual Spotlight Gala on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the NJPAC.
“Gibbons is proud to support NJPAC in its mission to present artistic, cultural, and educational programs that enhance and transform lives every day,” says Mr. Dunican.
Gibbons has a longstanding relationship with NJPAC and other venerable arts institutions in New Jersey. In addition to Mr. Dunican’s work on the Board of Directors and Council of Trustees for NJPAC, numerous Gibbons attorneys have devoted time and resources to the performing arts center. For example, firm director Michael Griffinger has run two very successful fundraising campaigns for NJPAC among the local legal community, including raising more than $220,000 in pledges by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Other Gibbons attorneys have held board and trustee positions with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Newark Museum, and the South Jersey Performing Arts Center, among others, and several have been involved with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
The Spotlight Gala is the largest nonprofit black-tie fundraiser in the state of New Jersey. The Women’s Association of NJPAC is a volunteer group comprising diverse members actively engaged in regional and national business, political, cultural, and social initiatives. WA members seek to increase awareness and educate the public about NJPAC and provide financial support to programs and educational activities.
