Katharina Earle Joins the Gibbons Financial Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights Group

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that Katharina Earle has joined the firm as a Director in the Financial Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights (FRCR) Group, resident in the Wilmington, Delaware, office.

Ms. Earle has extensive experience in bankruptcy, corporate restructuring, and other insolvency-related matters. She regularly represents debtors, creditors, investors, and other interested parties across various industries in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. Additionally, she is well versed in Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors proceedings in the Delaware Court of Chancery.

At Gibbons, Ms. Earle, a native of Berlin, Germany, will also be a member of the firm’s German Practice Team, which is part of the firm’s larger international practice and includes attorneys dedicated to serving clients from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria that have business interests in the United States. Clients range from new entrants into the U.S. marketplace to established international companies with businesses around the world. In her prior positions, Ms. Earle regularly assisted German businesses in bankruptcy, restructuring, and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Gibbons, Ms. Earle held associate positions at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Ashby & Geddes, P.A., and Cole Schotz P.C. After graduating from law school and prior to entering private practice, Ms. Earle clerked for the Honorable Mary F. Walrath and the Honorable Kevin Gross (retired) at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Christopher S. Sontchi (retired) at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and now International Judge at the Singapore International Commercial Court.

Ms. Earle earned both a J.D. and LL.M. from Widener University Delaware Law School and a German law degree (Diplom Juristin – U.S. J.D. equivalent) from Leibniz Universität – Juristische Fakultät in Hannover, Germany. She also holds an INSOL International Foundation Certificate in International Insolvency Law. She is admitted to practice in the state of Delaware and U.S. District Court, District of Delaware. Ms. Earle is a member of the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), and the German American Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the International Committee of TMA, the mission of which is, among other things, to maximize the global reach and connectivity of TMA and the growth of TMA’s global chapters.
