James Corcoran Joins the Gibbons Intellectual Property Department

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that James T. Corcoran has joined the firm as an associate in the Intellectual Property Department, resident in the Newark office.

Mr. Corcoran, a registered patent attorney with seven years of practicing experience, will focus primarily on complex chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech patent prosecution and counseling for both US and international clients. His experience includes drafting new patent applications, prosecuting these and existing applications globally, and interfacing with foreign agents. He is also highly experienced in patentability, freedom-to-operate and due diligence analyses, and work with scientists and inventors to maximize patent life cycles. With a keen eye toward portfolio development for clients that run the gamut from large corporations to industry leaders to university scholars, Mr. Corcoran will be an immediate asset to the firm and the clients it represents proudly.

Mr. Corcoran was awarded his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he served as Submissions Editor of the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review. Mr. Corcoran earned his B.S. from Binghamton University and M.S. from Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, he served as both a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Chemistry.
