The Garden State Woman Education Foundation Committee honored Gibbons P.C. and the Gibbons Women’s Initiative with its “Leadership Award” at its 5th Annual Awards Luncheon. Criteria for selection include influence on peers; position as a role model; professional success; and a demonstrated interest in charitable and community outreach.

The Gibbons Women’s Initiative is a successful platform for new and senior Gibbons women attorneys to participate with each other, clients, and high-level representatives from business and academia in programs that improve knowledge; foster teamwork; provide vital networking and business development opportunities; promote the role of women in business; undertake critical charitable and civic projects; and create important support networks in which to air viewpoints, learn personal and professional development strategies, and share ways of balancing family and work needs. The Initiative is a highly respected organization, with 100 percent participation among Gibbons women attorneys and more than 2,000 invited women participants to its many programs.

A 2009 winner of the prestigious Catalyst Award, the preeminent corporate honor recognizing excellence in the advancement of women in the workplace, Gibbons is ranked by Working Mother magazine as one of the top 50 firms nationwide for working women and by Minority Law Journal as a top 50 firm for diversity. The firm has also been recognized among the “Best Places to Work” by numerous regional and national publications and organizations.

The Annual Awards Luncheon is a fundraiser for the Garden State Woman Education Foundation’s scholarship fund, which provides scholarship aid to inner city girls accepted into a four year New Jersey college or university. In addition to the scholarship program, the foundation presents conferences and events for women about finance, health, and networking.
