Gibbons Launches E-Discovery Law Alert Blog

October 6, 2010

Gibbons has launched E-Discovery Law Alertwww.ediscoverylawalert.com – a comprehensive online resource covering practical perspectives and analysis of developing legal and business news in the area of electronic discovery.

The Gibbons E-Discovery Task Force will focus the blog on the current issues in electronic discovery and corporate information management, particularly with regard to their impact on businesses and in-house counsel operations.

“The Gibbons commitment to value-added client service is evidenced in the three blogs we have launched this year, which provide clients with valuable information and insight,” said Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons. “The Gibbons E-Discovery Task Force includes some of the foremost practitioners in the field, who contribute their invaluable knowledge to the E-Discovery Law Alert.”

The blog is co-edited by Mark S. Sidoti, Chair of the Gibbons E-Discovery Task Force. Mr. Sidoti frequently publishes and lectures on best practices in E-discovery. He was recently appointed Chair of the Defense Research Institute’s Electronic Discovery Committee and is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Groups 1 and 6, Electronic Discovery Reference Model (“EDRM”) and various E-Discovery advisory boards. Mr. Sidoti was counsel for the plaintiff in the well-known Treppel v. Biovail case, which resulted in several reported decisions that have been recognized as among the most important e-discovery opinions to date.

Jeffrey L. Nagel, a Director in the Task Force, co-edits the blog with Mr. Sidoti. He regularly advises clients in both the U.S. and internationally, and in a range of industries, on document retention and e-discovery best practices. Mr. Nagel has served on numerous e-discovery panels, has lectured on e-discovery best practices, and has authored many articles on e-discovery.

The blog’s editorial board comprises Phillip J. Duffy and Lan Hoang, both Directors in the Task Force, along with Verne A. Pedro, a Task Force associate. Blog content is authored by contributing attorneys from the E-Discovery Task Force.

“Since its inception, the Gibbons E-Discovery Task Force has offered a variety of client services above and beyond top-flight legal counsel,” explains Mr. Sidoti. “Through value-added services like our annual, full-day E-Discovery Conference every October, the full menu of custom e-discovery training programs we design for clients, and now the E-Discovery Law Alert, we ensure that clients stay ahead of the curve in this important and ever-evolving area of law.”
