In the recently released 2013-2014 Chambers Associate Guide, leading legal publisher Chambers and Partners described Gibbons P.C. as a “go-getter” and, one of New Jersey’s “finest litigation shops.” Chambers Associate provides law students and new lawyers with an in-depth look at law firm life by reviewing leading law firms throughout the United States.
Chambers editors assemble the information in its “Inside View” section from confidential, detailed, telephone interviews of the firm’s second and third-year associates. Associates are asked about their experience at the firm, including their work, training, the office, firm culture, pro bono work, diversity, and the firm’s strategy and future.
The publication noted:
Interviewees described their colleagues as ‘accessible,’ ‘down to earth’ and easy to work with. “They try to nurture everyone, including the support staff,” said one.” Another associate commented on the work at Gibbons, stating “[f]rom my first day here, I have been the day-to-day associate on the case I am working on.”
In addition, Chambers conducted extensive interviews on the firm’s future and hiring strategy with Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of the firm. “2012 was Year One of the post-recession manifestation of our strategy,” says Dunican. “Now we want to continue to attract top lateral partners like we did in that year.”
