Gibbons Earns Diversity Leader Award

Profiles in Diversity Journal has honored Gibbons P.C. with a Diversity Leader Award®, based on the many creative channels through which the firm communicates its commitment to diversity. Gibbons is featured in the November/December 2011 issue of the magazine.
The Diversity Leader Award recognizes the internal and external communications platforms that honorees use to spread their diversity messages within their own organizations, to clients, and throughout the business and broader communities. The publication applauds such efforts as intranets, town hall meetings, corporate reporting, social networking, news releases, and other efforts that reinforce the concepts of diversity and inclusion. “Such ongoing communication serves as a beacon to others to proclaim their own commitment to diversity and inclusion,” says James Rector, publisher of Profiles in Diversity Journal. “The companies that have been awarded this year have done a tremendous job with their programs and initiatives thus far.”
Gibbons relies on numerous outlets for communicating the mission, goals, and successes of the Gibbons Diversity Initiative, including: participation in diversity-focused events, such as the Vault job fair; membership in and sponsorship of minority legal and business organizations, including the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the National and Hispanic Bar Associations; an advertising campaign that includes a focused ad for the Diversity Initiative; press relationships with Profiles in Diversity Journal, MultiCultural Law Magazine, Minority Law Journal, and other diversity-focused business and industry publications; and an internal communications platform that includes content in the employee newsletter and handbook, as well as a Diversity Committee comprising professionals at all levels throughout the firm.
