Gibbons Director Michael Lubben Appointed to Board of Directors of Portugal-US Chamber of Commerce

Michael J. Lubben, a Director in the Corporate Department of Gibbons P.C., has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Portugal-US Chamber of Commerce in New York. In addition to this appointment, Mr. Lubben was elected to the Executive Committee, as Secretary, and as a member and Chairman of the Legal, Tax and Audit Committee. Gibbons is also a corporate member of the Chamber.

The Portugal-US Chamber of Commerce in New York was founded in 1979 to stimulate economic development, trade and investment, and cultural exchange between the United States and Portugal. Working closely with its counterparts in Portugal, Canada, and across the United States, the Chamber strives to promote shared interests in Portugal and expose the vast economic opportunities of the country, while providing its members with ongoing opportunities to network with individuals also engaged in Portugal-US affairs.

At Gibbons, Mr. Lubben’s practice focuses on transactional work, with an emphasis on real estate financing transactions, issues relating to the Uniform Commercial Code, and cross-border transactions. He has extensive experience with financial, corporate, and business matters for a variety of private sector companies and public entities, including healthcare companies, banks, governmental authorities, and charter schools. Specifically regarding the healthcare field, he represents clients both on a transactional basis and for general counsel purposes. Mr. Lubben also represents and provides general counsel to private and public companies in the manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, pharmaceutical, technology, and service industries in connection with a broad range of general and transactional matters, including regulatory issues. He has been listed in the most recent editions of Best Lawyers® in the areas of Banking and Finance and Corporate.
