Gibbons Counsel David Crapo and Members of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation Donate Check to the New Jersey Community Food Bank

Shortly before Christmas, David N. Crapo, Counsel in the Financial Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights Department of Gibbons P.C., delivered a $5,000 check on behalf of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation (NJBLF) to the New Jersey Community Food Bank in Hillside, NJ. David was joined by NJBLF members Novalyn L. Winfield, Judge on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, and Gary Norgaard, a Principal of Norgaard O’Boyle in Englewood, NJ.
The New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation is a privately funded, statewide nonprofit organization committed to reaching out to individuals in genuine need of additional financial assistance. Comprising bankruptcy attorneys and judges in private practice and public service throughout the state, NJBLF can identify areas of actual want to target its resources in a way that helps alleviate a widespread problem.
Mr. Crapo’s work with NJBLF on the Community Food Bank is an extension of his firm’s longstanding commitment to the area’s food banks, through the “Gibbons Cares” charitable and pro bono platform. Maintaining adequate inventory has been a tremendous challenge for the region’s food banks during the economic downturn and slow recovery. Meanwhile, demand has increased dramatically. Gibbons employees routinely collect non-perishable items to deliver to various food banks and soup kitchens in the region; the firm has distributed about 4,000 pounds, or two tons of food, over the past five years.
