Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that five outstanding attorneys have been named firm Directors and Counsel in 2013.

Attorneys promoted to Director (partner) are:

Ivette P. Alvarado
Real Property & Environmental Department – Newark Office
Ms. Alvarado focuses her practice on commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and real estate finance. She has extensive experience negotiating and drafting office, retail, and commercial building and ground leases and subleases throughout the United States. She conducts extensive due diligence investigations for multiple-property leasehold and fee title acquisitions and counsels clients in connection with contract and lease compliance issues related to land use, zoning, and other governmental permits and approvals. Ms. Alvarado attended Rutgers University – Rutgers College (B.A., Journalism and Communications, 1996) and Rutgers University School of Law – Newark (J.D., 2002). She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

Joshua R. Elias
Business & Commercial Litigation Department – Newark Office
Mr. Elias focuses his practice on complex business and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Prior to joining Gibbons, Mr. Elias handled complex legal malpractice matters, commercial/warranty litigation, and general litigation. With extensive experience drafting pleadings and written discovery, conducting depositions, drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions, arguing motions before the court, performing investigations, and negotiating settlements, Mr. Elias manages all stages of the litigation process. Mr. Elias attended Union College (B.A., cum laude, 2000) and Seton Hall University School of Law (J.D., 2003). He is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey, New York, and Florida.

Paul J. St. Onge
Government Affairs Department – Trenton Office
Mr. St. Onge has broad based public and private sector experience. He served as a senior advisor to Governor James E. McGreevey’s Transition Team, assisting with matters relating to New Jersey’s independent authorities and the New Jersey Department of the Treasury. He has held a number of other senior level positions including serving as Special Assistant to the New Jersey State Treasurer, where he coordinated approximately $200 million in state investment transactions. Mr. St. Onge also served as Assistant Director of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). During his tenure with the State of New Jersey and the NJEDA, Mr. St. Onge helped to negotiate, structure, and otherwise complete several major high profile public-private development and redevelopment projects. Mr. St. Onge also served as Special Projects Director in the Washington D.C. Senate office of Bill Bradley, former U.S. Senator and presidential candidate. Mr. St. Onge attended The Catholic University of America (B.A., cum laude, 1983), and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 1987). He is admitted to practice in New Jersey.

Lisa H. Wang
Intellectual Property Department – Newark Office
Lisa Wang centers her practice on patent prosecution and patent reexaminations, focusing on the areas of large and small molecule pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and nutritional supplements. Ms. Wang represents clients in both ex parte and inter partes reexamination proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She also counsels clients on a variety of intellectual property issues, including due diligence studies, clearance and pre-suit investigations, and freedom to operate opinions. Ms. Wang attended Rutgers University-Douglass College (B.A., cum laude, 1995), New York University (M.S., Cell and Molecular Biology, 1999), and Rutgers University School of Law (J.D., 2002) She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

Promoted to Counsel is:

Melissa DeHonney
Business & Commercial Litigation Department – Newark Office
Ms. DeHonney focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She has successfully represented clients in a broad range of matters, including consumer fraud actions, partnership disputes, estate litigation, and unfair competition, trademark, and copyright matters. Her experience encompasses all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts, from inception through appellate review. Ms. DeHonney attended Rutgers University (B.A., cum laude, 1999) and Fordham University School of Law (J.D., 2002). She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
