The Irish American Cultural Institute (IACI) has honored Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons P.C., with the 2018 Annie Moore Award, which was presented at the 25th Annual Washington’s Irish St. Patrick’s Day Ball, held on February 24, 2018 at the Madison Hotel in Morristown, New Jersey.

The Washington’s Irish St. Patrick’s Day Ball is an annual gala to benefit the established educational, arts, and cultural programming of IACI. The Annie Moore Award, presented every year at the gala, is named for the first immigrant to be processed at Ellis Island and honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the Irish and/or Irish American community and legacy through a commitment to excellence in business, commerce, education, or the arts.

Mr. Dunican, whose four grandparents emigrated to the United States from Ireland, is a founding member of the Irish American Bar Association of New Jersey. In 2013, Mr. Dunican celebrated his Irish heritage by serving as Grand Marshal of Newark’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, raising more money for more charities than ever before in the parade’s 78-year history. The Irish Voice newspaper recognized him in a recent edition of its “Irish Education 100,” which celebrates Irish-American leaders and major supporters of educational institutions throughout the U.S. He has also been named among PolitickerNJ’s “Irish American Leaders of New Jersey.”

Mr. Dunican has been named for seven consecutive years to NJBIZ’s “Power 100” list of the 100 most powerful people in New Jersey business and was recently ranked #26 on the 2017 PolitickerNJ Power List of the 100 most prominent people in New Jersey politics. Also in 2017, he was selected as a “Professional Lawyer of the Year” by the Essex County Bar Association and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.
