May 1, 2014

Scott Etish, an associate in the Business & Commercial Litigation Department of Gibbons P.C., has been elected to the Board of Directors of SquashSmarts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit academic and athletic mentoring program for Philadelphia’s public school students.

SquashSmarts, an out-of-school-time program selects students from 5th-12th grades based on commitment, effort, and attitude, rather than athletic or academic abilities. The program is dedicated to keeping kids in school and on track for graduation while staying in good physical shape through participating in the sport of squash. Students attend practices three times a week; practices focus on the SquashSmarts’ “Five Pillars”: Academic Support, Squash Instruction, Fitness and Nutrition, Personal Achievement, and Leadership. Students also participate in various competitions, outings, and community service projects during their right year commitment.

At Gibbons, Mr. Etish’s practice is focused on complex business and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He manages all phases of the litigation process, and he is routinely involved in emergent and expedited proceedings involving injunctive relief in state and federal courts.
