Farah M. Abuobead Joins the Gibbons Real Property Group

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that Farah M. Abuobead has joined the firm’s Real Property Group as an associate in the Newark office.

Ms. Abuobead brings a wealth of experience to the firm, particularly related to redevelopment projects. She most recently served as Assistant Corporation Counsel and Redevelopment Attorney for the city of East Orange, New Jersey. Among her many responsibilities there, she advised and represented the Mayor, city officials, and agencies on real property matters, such as real estate development, transactional real estate matters, and municipal law. She also drafted and negotiated redevelopment agreements and financial agreements, as well as other contracts, ordinances, leases, deeds, and other legal documents on behalf of the city. Additionally, she was the legal liaison for the city’s health department and attorney for the city’s Alcohol Beverage Control Board.

Previously, Ms. Abuobead was also an attorney with The Bauman Group P.C. in Bronxville, New York. There, she represented startup companies, wrote a wide range of formation and financing documents for a variety of businesses, and reviewed nondisclosure agreements for companies’ international matters.

Ms. Abuobead earned her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law and her B.S. from the University of Central Oklahoma. She also holds a Certificate of Healthcare Law Specialization from the University Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York.
