NJBIZ Names Patrick Dunican and William Palatucci of Gibbons Among its “Power 100” for 2015
January 28, 2015
Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons P.C., and William J. Palatucci, Special Counsel at the firm, were named by NJBIZ to its annual “Power 100” list of the most influential people in New Jersey business.
Mr. Dunican and Mr. Palatucci make their fifth consecutive appearance on the list, having been named every year since its inception in 2011. This year, Mr. Dunican ranked 41st, while Mr. Palatucci ranked 14th. Their continued inclusion on the list is especially impressive, given that more than 35 people listed in 2014 fell of the list in 2015. Mr. Dunican is also the highest ranking law firm leader among the Power 100.
To compile the “Power 100” list, NJBIZ editors spoke to many connected sources over several months to highlight the high-level officials in the state, county, and federal governments, as well as executives from some of New Jersey’s largest employers and organizations, who most help to strengthen New Jersey businesses.
Mr. Dunican has been highlighted by Law360 as one of the nation’s most innovative law firm managing partners, a position he attained at age 36. During his tenure, the firm has joined the Am Law 200 and grown into a Mid-Atlantic regional powerhouse. For example, Gibbons has been recognized nationally for its work – as, for example, one of only 20 law firms, and the only one headquartered in New Jersey, on the National Law Journal’s inaugural “Midsize Hot List” – as well as regionally. In 2014, the New Jersey Law Journal named Gibbons the “General Litigation Practice of the Year,” highlighting the firm’s multidisciplinary litigation strength, while Law360 selected Gibbons as a “Regional Powerhouse,” based on a number of high-profile corporate transactions in the public and private sectors, as well as major litigations throughout the region. Mr. Dunican’s focus on marketing and branding earned Gibbons a place as the only law firm featured in Steve Adubato’s book, You Are the Brand.
Mr. Palatucci, who was Chairman of Governor Christie’s 2013 reelection campaign and co-chaired the 2014 Inaugural Committee, is one of the state’s most prominent and widely respected attorneys, with a reputation for strategic planning and complex public policy and communications initiatives. In 2010, he was elected the Republican National Committeeman for New Jersey. He began his legal career in 1993 at Dughi & Hewit, P.C. where he founded the firm’s government affairs practice. In 2001, he became a partner in the firm and the firm’s name was changed to Dughi, Hewit & Palatucci, P.C. Mr. Palatucci currently serves as a member of the National Advisory Board for the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University and as a member of the Board of Visitors at the Seton Hall University School of Law. He also chairs the University of Phoenix Board of Trustees for its Jersey City, NJ campus.
