Christine Stearns Named One of New Jersey’s Best 50 Women in Business
February 3, 2016
Christine A. Stearns, a Director in the Government Affairs Department of Gibbons P.C. and Administrative Director of the Trenton office, has been named one of New Jersey’s “Best 50 Women in Business” by NJBIZ, New Jersey’s premier business news publication.
The Best 50 Women in Business awards program honors New Jersey’s successful and influential women in business who have been making headlines in their fields. The 50 honorees were selected by an independent panel of judges, based on their dedication to business growth in the state, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement, and advocacy for women.
“Christine has proven to be a real asset to both our Government Affairs Department and our clients, due to her vast experience with industry organizations and state entities,” stated Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons. “This recognition from the broader New Jersey business community is incredibly well-deserved, and we congratulate Christine on her honor.”
“We are truly fortunate to have the opportunity to recognize this outstanding group of women,” said Thomas Curtin, publisher of NJBIZ. “As business and community leaders, they are constantly redefining success within and outside the business arena.”
Ms. Stearns was selected on the basis of her wide range of legal, political, and legislative experience focused on New Jersey’s healthcare industry. In her role as Administrative Director of the firm’s Trenton office, headquarters of the Gibbons Government Affairs Department (named the state’s top lawyer-lobbying firm based on revenues for seven straight years), she is responsible for day-to-day office management, which includes supporting the needs of the practice group’s eight-attorney team. She was recognized by NJBIZ as one of the “50 Most Powerful People in Health Care in New Jersey” for four years, and included on NJ Spotlight’s list of “Top 10 Healthcare Lobbyists in New Jersey.”
Ms. Stearns currently serves on several state boards that regulate various aspects of New Jersey’s healthcare system, including the Health Care Administration Board. She also is a board member of the Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice and New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute. Prior to joining Gibbons in 2015, Ms. Stearns served as the Vice President of Health & Legal Affairs for the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) where she served as a healthcare advocate for the business community.
