Calvin J. Jonker Joins the Gibbons Corporate Group

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that Calvin J. Jonker has joined the firm as an associate in the Corporate Group, resident in the New York office.

Mr. Jonker was most recently with the Cohen Business Law Group, apc in Los Angeles, California. In his time there, he focused on emerging and tech-centered companies and was responsible for drafting and reviewing a wide variety of agreements relating to business formation, corporate and shareholder matters, mergers and acquisitions, and operations. Additionally, he supported the firm’s litigation team with research and writing for law and motion practice.

His experience while in law school includes clerking for a Los Angeles-based firm’s business and intellectual property group, where he provided research support and drafted documents. He also interned for a multinational firm in one of its Vietnam-based offices, and there assisted in drafting agreements and reports concerning mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investment, and project finance.

Mr. Jonker earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law. He previously earned his M.S. from the University of New Orleans Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration, and his B.S., magna cum laude, from Nicholls State University, John Folse Culinary Institute. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York and pending in the state of California.
