Joe Biden vowed to be “the most pro-union president you’ve ever seen.” His actions to date have backed this up. During Biden’s first day in office, he fired the National Labor Relations Board’s general counsel – whom unions openly criticized – in an unprecedented fashion. Biden has since nominated individuals with strong ties to Big Labor to serve as the agency’s general counsel and as Board members. The new general counsel already has issued memoranda suggesting that she will seek changes in the law that favor unions, and a Biden NLRB is in place. In addition, Biden has been an outspoken proponent of the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, which is pending legislation that seeks to empower the labor union movement in an unparalleled fashion. Tune in to learn about recent and anticipated changes about which your organization should be aware, and steps you should consider taking now.
