This seminar will outline legal and tax compliance issues specific to nonprofits. Attorneys are often recruited to provide services to nonprofit entities or are sought out as Board members. Nonprofit organizations may be seeking volunteers or professional advice as a means of reducing administrative expenses so as to focus funds on programmatic goals. Alternatively, attorneys may desire to give back to their community. Despite the best of intentions, at times these arrangements may present problems for both the organization and the attorney if there is not an understanding of the issues particular to tax exempt entities.
