May 11, 2018 | 12:30 PM - May 11, 2018 | 1:30 PM EST

After years of clashing with the Christie Administration, the New Jersey Legislature has been moving swiftly to pass progressive legislation and get it onto Governor Murphy’s desk. In the last few weeks, the Legislature has passed both pay equity and paid sick leave legislation that is poised to have a significant impact on New Jersey employers, and there is more on the horizon.

This webinar will explain and offer insight into the recently passed pay equity and paid sick leave legislation, both of which Governor Murphy is expected to sign. We will address key questions raised by both pieces of legislation, including:

  • When do employers need to be in compliance?
  • How does the new legislation affect employers’ operations within and outside New Jersey?
  • Should changes be made to employer policies?
  • How do the anti-retaliation provisions in the pay equity legislation affect current policies and procedures regarding the confidentiality of employee compensation information?

We will also discuss pending legislation that, if passed, would limit an employer’s use of non-disclosure provisions in employment agreements and settlements involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Forewarned is forearmed, so please join us for this timely discussion.
