Russell Bershad is a senior Director in the Gibbons Real Property Department. He is the immediate Past Chair of the Department, which he led for over 15 years. Mr. Bershad continues to lead the transactional real estate practice within the Real Property Department. The transactional real estate practice is ranked in Tier 2 nationally and in Tier 1 in New Jersey by US News & World Report/Best Lawyers.

Mr. Bershad is one of fourteen “Band 1” real estate attorneys in New Jersey recognized by Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Law Firms. He is listed in NJBIZ magazine’s 2016 “Power 75 Real Estate List” of leading individuals in real estate in New Jersey. In addition, Mr. Bershad is named by New Jersey Super Lawyers as the “Real Estate Lawyer of the Year” of the Newark Region for 2017 and has been included in its list of New Jersey Super Lawyers in real estate for over a dozen years. He has been listed in Best Lawyers® for many years and is one of a select group of New Jersey lawyers elected for membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

Mr. Bershad has practiced exclusively as a real estate attorney for over 35 years focusing on acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing, development projects, and tax abatements.
