Mr. Dassie focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including patent and trade secret disputes. He has substantive patent litigation experience both at the district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), encompassing a wide range of technologies from asthma inhaler drugs, to lubricating oil compositions, and the process and detection of images in electronic devices.
Mr. Dassie has also been involved in all stages of district court litigation, from pleadings, to fact and expert discovery, summary judgment, and trial preparation. He similarly has extensive experience in PTAB litigation, including second chairing an IPR oral argument.
While Mr. Dassie has broad patent litigation experience, he particularly enjoys working on patent damages and other remedial aspects of a case. He has assisted in deposing damages experts, drafting expert reports on damages, drafting dispositive motions on damages issues, and drafting a motion for entry of judgment on damages.
