Ms. Abuobead has extensive experience in redevelopment, involving drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and researching federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and court decisions to prepare documentation.

She most recently served as Assistant Corporation Counsel and Redevelopment Attorney for the city of East Orange, New Jersey. Among her many responsibilities, she advised and represented the Mayor, city officials, and agencies on real property matters, such as real estate development, transactional real estate matters, and municipal law. She also drafted and negotiated redevelopment agreements and financial agreements, as well as other contracts, ordinances, leases, deeds, and other legal documents. Additionally, she was the legal liaison for the city’s health department and attorney for the city’s Alcohol Beverage Control Board.
