Ms. Andrews is responsible for the personnel management, benefits, and insurance programs for the firm’s 400 employees in five offices and four states. She is charged with influencing and administering the “Gibbons Experience,” an award-winning, generous package of benefits and personnel policies that has earned the firm being named to the Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers list of the “50 Best Law Firms for Women” for ten consecutive years, as well as one of the “Best Places to Work” by leading publications in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. This program includes reduced hour and flex-time policies for the firm’s attorneys and senior administrators, emergency childcare for all employees, and other benefits that differentiate Gibbons from its competitors. Ms. Andrews has worked at Gibbons for over 35 years, starting at the firm as a secretary and advancing to her current role.

The benefits Ms. Andrews has helped to introduce include the firm’s:

  • Bright Horizons emergency childcare program offered to all employees, with the firm paying 70% of the cost for this service
  • Employee Assistance Program, which offers all employees and household members referrals or confidential consultations with health care professionals with regard to family, drug abuse, alcohol dependency, eating disorders, anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, and other concerns
  • Health Advocate program, which assigns each employee a Personal Health Advocate, typically a registered nurse, who assists in dealing with insurance, obtaining services for elderly parents and scheduling specialist appointments
  • Annual health fairs, including blood pressure, skin cancer, and other health screenings in each of the firm’s offices
  • Flu shot clinics onsite in the firm’s offices for all employees
  • Lunch and learn programs covering such topics as diabetes and heart disease
  • Flexible spending accounts that allow employees to contribute pretax amounts toward their healthcare and commuting costs for the year
  • High deductible health plan option with a health savings account (HSA) component
