For the third time this year, Gibbons P.C. has been highlighted by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work® and Fortune for its exemplary workplace environment, policies, and programs. These organizations have selected Gibbons as one of the nation’s “Best Workplaces for Diversity,” ranking the firm 100th on their 2017 list. Earlier this year, Gibbons ranked 90th nationwide on the Best Medium Workplaces list and 14th among the Best Small and Medium Workplaces in New York.

The Best Workplaces for Diversity is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations. All Great Place to Work-Certified companies with more than ten and fewer than 1,000 employees are eligible for inclusion on Best Small and Medium Workplace lists that are published throughout the year.

Great Place to Work, a research and consulting firm, evaluated more than 50 elements of the workplace experiences of eligible companies’ employees, including professional development, innovation, leadership confidence, and consistent treatment among employees of different backgrounds. The ranking also accounted for the share of women, people of color, “baby boomers” and LGBT individuals in the workplace.

“Diversity provides valuable perspectives and talents that allow us to be more creative, effective, and ultimately successful in the practice of law and service to our clients,” stated Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons P.C. “It is an extraordinary honor for Gibbons to be recognized among such prestigious companies for our Diversity and Women’s Initiatives.”

“The Best Workplaces for Diversity have achieved something beyond basic fairness. They find ways to connect with each and every employee, listening to their challenges and building on their talents,” said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work.

Various other organizations have also recognized Gibbons for its diversity and women’s initiative efforts, such as Profiles in Diversity Journal, Vault, MultiCultural Law, and Minority Law Journal. In addition, Gibbons was the recipient of the 2009 Catalyst Award, which honors major corporations with leading women’s initiatives throughout the world. Gibbons was only the third law firm ever to receive the Catalyst Award and remains one of the smallest companies by far to be honored.
