Mary Frances Palisano Installed as Vice Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Criminal Law Section

Mary Frances Palisano, a Director in the Criminal Defense Department of Gibbons P.C., was installed as Vice Chair of the Criminal Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) at the section’s annual meeting, held during the NJSBA’s Annual Meeting and Convention at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ on May 19, 2016. This position aligns Ms. Palisano to become Chair of the Criminal Law Section in 2018.

The NJSBA’s Criminal Law Section provides information and education concerning the improvement of the criminal justice system in the state, taking an active role in responding to developments that affect its membership and suggesting methods through which the legal system can more effectively serve the interests of section members and their clients. As a member of the NJSBA, Ms. Palisano also serves as a member of the Pro Bono and Continuing Legal Education Advisory Committees as well as a member of the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine Editorial Board.

Ms. Palisano focuses her criminal defense practice on litigating and counseling clients in all phases of federal and state criminal proceedings and quasi-criminal matters, including state charges, white collar crimes, internal and government investigations, subpoenas, juvenile proceedings, municipal matters, and appeals. She also represents clients in administrative, professional ethics, and licensing proceedings that often relate to criminal matters. In addition, Ms. Palisano serves as the firm’s Pro Bono Coordinator. In this role, she seeks out meaningful pro bono opportunities, mentors associates, and is dedicated to the firm’s commitment to high-quality pro bono representation in all areas, including criminal defense.
