Gibbons Announces Its 2014 Fall Associate Class

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce its 2014 class of fall associates. The legal, judicial, and business experience that these talented young lawyers bring with them further enhances the service that Gibbons delivers to clients. The new class includes four recent clerks for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division; one for the Supreme Court of New Jersey; and two for the United States District Courts. In addition, fall associate June Kim was selected through the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) 2014 NAPABA-Prudential Law Fellowship program, a new partnership that provides challenging post-graduation employment to a recent law school graduate.

Gibbons heavily emphasizes recruiting judicial law clerks and has done so for many years. As a result, fully 75 percent of the firm’s litigation attorneys served for federal or state judges, including many sitting judges and justices of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals; United States District Courts; state supreme courts; state appellate courts; and many chancery courts throughout the region. This predominance of former judicial law clerks gives us in-depth, first-hand knowledge of judges in the federal and state systems and the inner workings of the courts while adding another level of instant credibility.

In addition, Gibbons, Prudential, and NAPABA this year launched the NAPABA-Prudential Law Fellowship program. Through this program, a Fellow is selected and offered a permanent, full-time associate position at Gibbons. After the Fellow’s second year at Gibbons (and assuming the Fellow has performed satisfactorily at the firm and demonstrated an interest in working in a core practice area in the Prudential Law Department), the Fellow will be given the opportunity to be located in the Prudential Law Department’s Newark office or in the New York office for up to one year (the Fellowship Year). During the Fellowship Year, the Fellow will continue to be solely employed, compensated, and supervised by Gibbons. If the Fellow performs satisfactorily, in the judgment of Gibbons, during the Fellowship Year, the Fellow will be expected to return as an associate to Gibbons at the end of the Fellowship Year.
