American Bar Association Appoints Ghillaine Reid to Co-Chair of its Section of Litigation Securities Litigation Committee

The American Bar Association has appointed Ghillaine A. Reid, a Director in the Gibbons Business & Commercial Litigation Department, to serve as Co-Chair of its Section of Litigation Securities Litigation Committee. In this role, Ms. Reid will assist the committee in reaching its goals of increasing membership, publishing newsletters and books of interest to its members, and developing programs featuring experts in the field.

“Ghillaine is a valued member of our Securities Litigation Team, and will put her talents to use to assist the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation’s Securities Litigation Committee,” stated Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons. “Her appointment will help us continue to provide resources to our clients in this area.”

Ms. Reid has earned recognition by numerous publications, which has included receiving a “40 Under Forty Achievement Award” from the Network Journal, and being named one of the New Jersey Law Journal’s “40 Under 40.” She has also been named a contributor to the Practicing Law Institute’s newly released Securities Law Practice Center.

Ms. Reid represents corporations and individuals in investigations conducted by the Securities & Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and other government agencies and self-regulatory organizations. She has handled several high-profile SEC investigations and enforcement proceedings involving insider trading, accounting fraud and sales practice violations. Before joining Gibbons, she served as a Branch Chief and Staff Attorney in the New York Regional Office of the SEC, where she investigated and litigated a wide range of securities enforcement proceedings including market manipulation, insider trading and accounting fraud.
