For the second year in a row, Gibbons P.C. has earned a ranking of 159 nationwide in The American Lawyer’s Diversity Scorecard. As reported in the publication’s June 2016 edition, firms were scored based on both raw numbers and percentages of minority attorneys, minority partners, and minority equity partners, with Gibbons ranking higher on the list than many larger Am Law 200 firms included in the survey.

“Diversity provides valuable perspectives, cultural competence, and talents that allow us to be more creative, effective, and ultimately successful in the practice of law and service to our clients,” says Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons. “Diversity of perspective results in diversity of solutions, and we are in the solution delivery business.”

A critical component of the firm’s efforts to create a more diverse attorney workforce is the Gibbons Diversity Initiative (GDI), the firm’s platform of programs and policies that promote diversity and inclusion both at Gibbons and throughout the legal and business communities, including initiatives to provide thought leadership on diversity issues, support pipeline programs for the next generation of legal industry and business leaders, and promote supplier diversity. GDI is a comprehensive strategy, comprising both internal and external aspects, which puts into action a longstanding commitment and involves all aspects of the firm’s operation.
