Shavar D. Jeffries
Shavar D. Jeffries is Counsel to the firm and a member of the Criminal Defense Department. Mr. Jeffries is an Associate Professor of Law at Seton Hall School of Law where he teaches Criminal Law, as well as a Civil Litigation Clinic in the Law School's Center for Social Justice. He is also an elected member of the Newark Public School Board.In 2008, he served as Counsel to Attorney General Anne Milgram, where he advised the Attorney General on legal issues and served as a liaison in the Office of the Attorney General to many of the divisions within the Department of Law and Public Safety.
Mr. Jeffries has also dedicated much of his career to public service, holding positions as a Gibbons Fellow, a professor for the Center for Social Justice at Seton Hall Law School where he and his students represented clients pro-bono in major public interest and civil-rights cases, and Co-Director of the Law School's Urban Revitalization Project.
