Ahmed J. KassimMr. Kassim is an Associate in the firm’s Products Liability Department and concentrates his practice in the areas of general products liability, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, and mass tort litigation in state and federal courts. Mr. Kassim has handled various aspects of litigation from initial discovery through judgment and resolution, including responsibility for pleadings, motions, and document production and review. Mr. Kassim has also analyzed a variety of pretrial and trial evidentiary issues relevant to products liability and, specifically, toxic tort, pharmaceutical and medical device cases. Mr. Kassim’s recent pro bono work includes the representation of an asylum seeker before the U.S. Immigration Court in New York City.
Prior to joining Gibbons, Mr. Kassim served as a law clerk for Judge Ann G. McCormick in the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, where he wrote on a broad range of legal issues arising in mass tort asbestos litigation, complex commercial litigation, and class actions.
Before attending law school, Mr. Kassim worked as a chemical engineer for BASF Corporation and as a research assistant at the National Institutes of Health. Mr. Kassim co-authored papers examining cellular localization of chemical carcinogens using microarray techniques. Those experiences provide a valuable background for his pharmaceutical and medical device practice.
