William R. Firth, III

William R. Firth, III focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation. Mr. Firth’s litigation experience includes a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including civil RICO, business tort, professional malpractice, breach of contract, and international business litigation matters. Mr. Firth also has significant experience representing manufacturing, transportation, retail and telecommunications companies, institutional lenders, investors, suppliers and commercial landlords in various bankruptcy matters, including bankruptcy litigation, transactions with bankruptcy estates, bankruptcy asset purchases, bankruptcy fraud, asset recovery litigation and asset based lending matters.

Mr. Firth is an active member of the Delaware bar and has represented clients in various matters before the state and federal courts of Delaware relating to issues and transactions involving Delaware law. Mr. Firth is the managing attorney of the firm's Wilmington, Delaware office.

Prior to joining Gibbons, Mr. Firth practiced in the Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware offices of a national Philadelphia-based law firm where he represented clients in various bankruptcy litigation matters and in the Philadelphia office of an international law firm where he represented foreign clients in various domestic and international commercial litigation matters.

Mr. Firth is active in various civic organizations in Philadelphia. He currently serves as a board member of the Philadelphia Young Republican Federation and has served as election counsel in state and federal election campaigns. Mr. Firth is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government and is a former law clerk for United States Senator Arlen Specter.
