Gibbons Congratulates 2017 Class of Directors and Counsel

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that five attorneys have been named Directors and Counsel, effective January 1, 2017.

The attorneys promoted to Director are:

James J. La Rocca, Employment & Labor Law Department
Mr. La Rocca regularly counsels companies on legal issues involving labor unions, including in the context of collective bargaining, picketing, and union organizing. More broadly, Mr. La Rocca represents employers in wide-ranging employment litigation.

Mr. La Rocca earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his B.S. from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York; Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey and Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Jonathan S. Liss, Business & Commercial Litigation Department
Mr. Liss is a commercial litigator whose practice is focused on shareholder and corporate governance disputes, business torts, commercial contract disputes, and general commercial litigation. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in various matters at the trial and appellate levels in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Mr. Liss earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.S. from New York University – Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York; Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and District of New Jersey; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits; and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Kevin W. Weber, Business & Commercial Litigation Department
Mr. Weber represents businesses of all sizes in a broad range of litigation, dispute resolution, and general counseling matters. His experience includes real estate disputes, trade secret actions, business break-ups, professional liability/malpractice matters, and litigation involving government entities. Mr. Weber is also a Rule 1:40 New Jersey Court Approved Mediator and has experience in a wide variety of alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Mr. Weber earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from Rutgers University. He is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York and the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey and Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Promoted to Counsel are:

Suzanne Herrmann Brock, Employment & Labor Law Department
Ms. Brock practices employment litigation and counseling on behalf of employers. In her litigation practice, she routinely defends wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, retaliation, violation of non-compete agreements, and wage and hour claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She also provides counsel and advice on all phases of the employment relationship, focusing on mid-size employers undergoing rapid growth and helping them to ensure compliance with numerous, complex, and changing employment laws.

Ms. Brock earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and her B.A. from Colgate University. She is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York; U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey and Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Scott A. Galano, Corporate Department
Mr. Galano has practiced exclusively in the area of public finance since 2004, serving as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, and trustee’s counsel on a variety of complex tax-exempt and taxable financings involving variable and fixed rate obligations; certificates of participation; demand bonds; general obligation and revenue bonds and notes; general obligation and revenue refunding bonds; pooled program loan bonds and notes; credit enhanced (insured, letter of credit supported, or county guaranteed) obligations; negotiated and competitive bond and note sales; borrowings through the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust; and new money, current refunding, and advanced refunding obligations.

Mr. Galano earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and his B.A. from Rutgers University. He is admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
